Android L

Android L-the upcoming mobile operating system from Google will come with several new features.

1.New User Interface-The new interface will be based on a design language called Material Design, which adds more animations, shadows and white spaces in apps. The on-screen navigation keys will also get a whole new look with this release; the Home, Back and Multitasking keys are now symbolized by a circle, triangle and square.

2.3D Multitasking-The multitasking menu of Android will get a 3D look with the next update. This is also courtesy Material Design and shows the open apps as overlapping cards. The 3D effect is generated with the help of “shadows and perspectives,” Google says.

3.Enhanced Notification-Users will be able to read, open and dismiss notifications without unlocking their smartphone or tablet.Heads-up Notifications is an element that shows new notifications on top of the screen, irrespective of the app is running at that time. This feature has been implemented by third-party developers in their apps, but will now be used in Google’s own apps as well.

4.64-bit CPU support- Google has ensured that Android supports 64-bit processors from the next version. This means that addressable memory constraints are now lifted and Android devices will be able to make full use of the available RAM.

5.Apps go faster- Google has replaced Dalvik run-time with ART (Android run-time) in Android L release. ART was only an option till KitKat, but will now be the default. With ART implementation, apps will run faster than they do now. However, they will also take up more space on the device.

6.Improved Battery life- Battery life will be more improved in Android L version.

7. More Security features - Android L will include the much-needed kill-switch that enables users to remotely reset their smartphone or tablet in case it is stolen. In Secret mode, the device will not show any notifications on the lock screen.

8.More improved graphics-Google introduced Android Extension Pack at the event. The technology focuses on enhancing graphics on mobile devices, making PC-like gaming possible on Android devices.

Windows 9-Few Information

Although no official announcement from Microsoft about their next version of windows there are plenty of rumors about their release date, price and features.

Windows Blue turned out to be Windows 8.1 rather than a completely new version of the Windows OS – Windows 9 will be that new version. As for interim releases, we'll probably also get Windows 8.2 before we get Windows 9. And we have already seen the initial update to Windows 8.1, called Windows 8.1 Update 1.
The new update features improvements to the Start Screen including the ability to boot straight into the Desktop, the return of shutdown on Start and a more familiar task bar to unify the old and new user interfaces. The update was announced at Build 2014, along with features teased for Windows updates to come.
The next complete version of Windows is being referred to as Windows 9, though this may change. And a new codename has appeared – Threshold, possibly in refrence to moving across from our reliance on the desktop to a new world where the Start screen is at the heart of how we use Windows.

Release Date

Some rumors have suggested late 2014 or early 2015 for a Windows 9 release, it seems like Windows 9 should drop before September 2015 at the latest.

Price

What the collective has heard exactly is that a prototype version is in the works in which a barebones version of Windows 9 will be available for free. For additional functionality, users would have to pay up through a subscription.

Electric Clothes

Scientists at Wake Forest University have developed a fabric that doubles as a spare outlet. When used to line your shirt — or even your pillowcase or office chair — it converts subtle differences in temperature across the span of the clothing (say, from your cuff to your armpit) into electricity. And because the different parts of your shirt can vary by about 10 degrees, you could power up your MP3 player just by sitting still. According to the fabric’s creator, David Carroll, a cellphone case lined with the material could boost the phone’s battery charge by 10 to 15 percent over eight hours, using the heat absorbed from your pants pocket.
